I grew up in what many would consider to be a poor household. My family has been homeless twice in my 22-year lifetime. Those hardships have uniquely shaped the way I look at financial issues. I have a vast knowledge of public programs for low-income and homeless people, as well as a passion for personal finance. Due to my family's financial situation, I was awarded several grants that have allowed me to attend college debt-free if I so choose. I am currently enrolled at Northern Kentucky University, where I’m majoring in organizational leadership. My goal is to break my family's cycle of poverty using one of the few things that nobody can take away from me: education.
