What’s the best way to Christmas shop? Buying all at once or throughout the year?

I start buying in September. The problem with buying throughout the year is that the return policies might trip you up if there is something wrong or it doesn't fit. I always buy about 90 days out from Jan 1st when most stores start their holiday return policy window. However, I do start making lists of what to buy starting in January! Whenever someone says they like an item or I remember they have a special thing they need, I write it down in this big list. It comes in handy when I'm ready to shop!

Create a sub-savings account that you fund throughout the year, then buy things when they are on sale.

Throughout the year! For sure! I have a closet in my house where I store presents. I buy things on super clearance that I know would make a good present for the people I love. Come Christmas I just go to the closet and go 'shopping'!
