Once I have a few credit cards and use them responsibly, is there a point to using a debit card?

The down side of using only credit cards could be a false sense of security. For example, your available credit is $10k, but you do not actually have that much at your disposal. In the case of being financially balanced, I only use my debit card. It’s money that I actually have at any given time. I travel a lot so I have my credit cards in case of a serious emergency, but prefer my debit card or cash.

Since I got a credit card, I very rarely use debit. There’s no benefit. With my CC, I get rewards. Gotta love free $’s. Plus, using it boosts my credit score so win’s all around.

You don’t have to use a debit card, but it can help you spend only the money you have. Credit cards COULD lead to debt if you’re not careful, whereas debit cards will not (but watch out for overdraft fees)
