If I live in Pennsylvania, but get a performance job in another state. Will I pay the taxes of the state I was in for that job, or for where I live?

Potentially both. As a performer, I recommend two things. 1) keep really good records. You might use a folder or envelope for every gig/location, and keep your contract and receipts from any unreimbursed expenses related to that (i.e.travel). 2) Ask colleagues to recommend a good accountant! If that is not an option, I would recommend you pay for the level of TurboTax that handles multiple state returns.
