I was recently involved in an accident where I was almost run over by a car. I was taken to the emergency room and my bike was badly damaged as well. How should I go about getting the offender to pay compensation?

You seriously need to pull in an attorney. Bike accidents happen all the time and you must seek help!

Do you have the name, number, and insurance information of the person? Were you taken to the ER by ambulance (in other words, is there a police report?) The offender’s insurance should pay for both your bicycle and your medical bills. You can start by calling his/her insurer if you have that information. If not, call the person. Sadly, you may need to get a lawyer if the person is not cooperating.
