I have 3 savings bonds that were issued around 1990. The ‘final maturity’ is about 2020. Currently they are worth approximately $88 with a 4% interest. But should I ‘cash’ them in now, since the economy and our political system seems so unpredictable at the moment? Is it possible for the money to disappear somehow? And, if I should cash them now, how do I do that? Simply at my bank like a check?
