Does anyone have any tips for keeping track of spending and receipts? I’m wondering if anyone has any organizational methods that work well for them/software/apps that help.

I use FreshBooks for my business because you can take a picture of receipts and it stores them. Mint and Personal Capital are good for tracking spending and you’ll need to connect all of your accounts to them for them to read correctly.

The trick is to spend so little that this becomes almost a nonissue. Ha – but there is some truth to that.

I use Excel. Yes, it takes longer than budgeting apps but I like that. Since I have to type everything out manually, if forces me to review my purchases. If I get sick of typing, I should stop buying so much.

Someone will probably recommend You Need a Budget. It’s an expense tracking software that seems pretty robust. I’ve not used it so I cannot recommend it.
